Ektaa Kapoor Reacts to Akshay Kumar’s recent Release Selfiee

Ektaa Kapoor reacted to Akshay Kumar’s recent release Selfiee. Taking to the story section of her Instagram, Ektaa pointed the guns at the "tabloid culture". She wrote, "Akshay Kumar is the most reliable, dependable actor to work with!!! Depressing tabloid culture of bringing someone down to highlight his lows is a hugeeeeee low in itself!!!" She also added the hashtag "insensitive".

Selfiee is the remake of the 2019 Malayalam film Driving Licence (2019). However, the film registered a dismal opening at the box-office with Rs 2.5 crore making it Kumar’s 5th flop in a row after Bachchhan Paandey (2022), Samrat Prithviraj (2022), Raksha Bandhan (2022), and Ram Setu (2022). A special mention to his streaming film Cuttputlli (2022) which comparatively performed well on the streaming platform Disney+Hotstar.

Directed by Raj Mehta, Selfiee also stars Emraan Hashmi and Nushrratt Bharuccha in the lead.
