Alia Bhatt Celebrates Deepika Padukone For "Making India Proud"

The 95th Academy Awards were a historic one for India as it took home two Oscars – "Naatu Naatu" won Best Original Song and The Elephant Whisperers won Best Documentary Short. Shining bright amidst the festivities was our very own Deepika Padukone, flaunting a Louis Vitton dress and Cartier jewels.

The actress' easy grace on-stage – a famously daunting task given the prestige associated with the ceremony – as she presented the performance for "Naatu Naatu" has won hearts. Indian actors lauded Padukone on social media. Alia Bhatt shared an image of Padukone writing, "This beauty making India proud and how.." Down south, Samantha Ruth Prabhu shared the actress' picture with the words "Dead". Karan Johar also joined in, calling Padukone "Grace personified" and we couldn't agree more.
