A 59-Year-Old Classic Track, Recreated In Neelavelicham

Neelavelicham, helmed by Aashiq Abu, is a romantic horror based on Vaikom Muhammad Basheer's short story of the same title. Bhargavi Nilayam, directed by A Vincent in 1964, was also based on the same story and was co-written by Basheer. The film featured Prem Nazir, Madhu and Vijaya Nirmala.

At the centre of Neelavelicham is a talented novelist who moves into a house, and writes a story about the lady who lived in the house before him. In Abu's film, actors Roshan Mathew, Rima Kallingal, Tovino Thomas and Shine Tom Chacko play important roles.

The makers recently released the video song "Anuraga Madhuchashakam", which is a recreation of the song in Bhargavi Nilayam. While the original was sung by veteran singer S Janaki, the recreated version plays in the voice of KS Chithra to the composition of Rex Vijayan and Bijibal. The song was originally scored by MS Baburaj and the lyrics were penned by noted poet P Bhaskaran.
