Marvel Studios Announces Slate Of 12 Titles For Disney+

Streaming giant Disney+ clocked two years this Friday on Disney+ Day 2021. One of the highlights of the event was the upcoming slate revealed by Marvel Studios, as they announced the expansion of the MCU with 12 upcoming live-animation titles. All titles will stream on Disney+ Hotstar over the next couple of years.

Here are the Big 12 to watch out for:

X-Men '97

Written by executive producer Beau DeMayo, the animated series – set to premiere in 2023 – will explore new stories from the iconic 90s TV series.

Moon Knight

Directed by Mohamed Diab, 2022 will see a globetrotting action-adventure series about a vigilante, Marc Spector (Oscar Issac). Spector has dissociative identity disorder and believes that he is the human incarnation of the Egyptian God Khonshu. Moon Knight follows this deadly war of the gods set against the backdrop of modern and ancient Egypt.


This comedy series will follow Jennifer Walters (Tatiana Maslany), a lawyer specializing in superhuman-oriented legal cases. The Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) and the Abomination (Tim Roth) are also set to reprise their roles in the series debuting in 2022. Written by Executive Producer Jessica Gao, it is directed by Executive Producer Kat Coiro and Anu Valia.

Ms. Marvel

Created by Bisha K. Ali, the series follows Kamala, a 16-year old Pakistani-American. She is an aspiring artist, an avid gamer, a voracious fan-fiction scribe, and a huge Avengers fan. What happens when she gets the superpowers of her idols?


The series stars Alaqua Cox as Maya Lopez – a character to be introduced in Marvel's Hawkeye.


Ironheart is about Riri Williams (Dominique Thorne), the genius inventor behind the most advanced suit of armour since Iron Man.

Agatha: House of Harkness

Executive produced by head writer Jac Schaefer, this series will see the return of Agatha Harkness (Kathryn Hahn), first introduced in Marvel's WandaVision.

Secret Invasion

The Samuel L. Jackson-Ben Mendelsohn starring series follows a faction of shapeshifting Skrulls infiltrating the Earth for years.

What If…? Season 2

Having had the Guardians of the Multiverse stop the Infinity Ultron, The Watcher returns, finding new heroes and newer worlds in the MCU's ever-expanding Multiverse. Directed by Bryan Andrews, it is written by Executive Producer AC Bradley.

Spider-Man: Freshman Year

Written by Executive Producer Jeff Trammel, the series follows Peter Parker before he became Spider-Man in the MCU, with a style celebrating the character's early comic book roots.

I Am Groot

Directed by Executive Producer Kirsten Lepore, I Am Groot follows the life of baby Groot as he grows up and gets into trouble.

Marvel Zombies

Directed by Bryan Andrews and written by Executive Producer Zeb Wells, the animated series -coming soon – follows a new generation of Marvel heroes battling zombies.
