Streaming platforms are notorious for their lack of transparency, allowing them to quote numbers that are tough to verify. Ormax Media, a media consulting firm, however, has been tracking viewership figures of the top releases across major platforms.

Here’s a list of the most-viewed shows and movies from the Indian streaming space during the week of January 2nd, 2023 – January 8th, 2023. The numbers are estimates based only within India. This list does not include any streaming releases from the South.

1. Taaza Khabar - Disney+ Hotstar

Views (million): 5.9

An underprivileged sanitation worker finds his life changed after a good deed grants him superpowers. The dramedy stars Bhuvan Bam, Shriya Pilgaonkar, JD Chakravarthy, Deven Bhojani, Prathmesh Parab, Nitya Mathur, Shilpa Shukla and Mithilesh Chaturvedi.

2. Aar Ya Paar - Disney+ Hotstar

Views (million): 4.6

The show revolves around an archer who becomes a deadly assassin to safeguard his tribe when the modern world threatens to destroy his idyllic tribal existence.

3. Vir Das: Landing - Netflix

5. Kathmandu Connection 2 - Sony Liv
