Amazon Prime Video Announces Slate Of Over 40 New Titles

Amazon Prime Video – in an event titled Prime Video Presents India – announced a massive slate of original series and films. The streaming giant is set to launch over 40 new titles across languages over the next 24 months.

The platform also announced multi-year licensing deals with major production houses, including Yash Raj Films (Jayeshbhai Jordaar, Prithviraj, Shamshera, Tiger 3 and Pathaan), Dharma Productions (Jug Jugg Jeeyo, Govinda Naam Mera and Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani), Excel Media and Entertainment (Phone Bhoot, Yudra, Fukrey 3, Jee Le Zara and Kho Gaye Hain Hum Kahan) and Ajay Devgn Films (Runway 34, Thank God, Drishyam 2 and Bhola). Alongside, it will also co-produce and collaborate on upcoming films like Vidya Balan-led Neeyat, Kangana Ranaut's Tiku Weds Sheru and the Akshay Kumar-starrer Ram Setu.

What's more? Popular shows like Made In Heaven, Mirzapur, Panchayat and Paatal Lok too, are finally set to return with new seasons.

Scripted Originals:

Adhura (Hindi)

The supernatural thriller set in an elite boarding school stars Ishwak Singh and Rasika Duggal.

Bambai Meri Jaan (Hindi)

Starring Kay Kay Menon, Kritika Kamra, Avinash Tiwary and Amyra Dastur, the series revolves around an honest cop, determined to clean the streets of Bombay from the rise of organized crime in post-Independence era. In this quest, he puts everything at stake, including his family.

Call Me Bae (Hindi)

Produced by Dharmatic Entertainment, the series will follow the journey of Bae, a billionaire fashionista who is forced to fend for herself after her ultra-rich family disowns her in the aftermath of a salacious scandal.

Crash Course (Hindi)

A fictional account of two warring coaching institutes, and the effect it has on a group of young students away from their families, preparing for their competitive exams. The star cast includes Annu Kapoor, Bhanu Uday, Udit Arora, Pranay Pachauri and Siddharth Kak, among others.

Dahaad (Hindi)

Created by Reema Kagti and Zoya Akhtar, the serial killer drama starring Sonakshi Sinha, Vijay Verma, Gulshan Devaiah and Sohum Shah, follows the investigations of a female cop into a crime that shakes her core.

Dhootha (Telugu)

In this supernatural horror – starring Naga Chaitanya, Parvathy Thiruvothu, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Prachi Desai and Tharun Bhascker Dhaassyam – possessed inanimate objects wreak havoc on the lives of people who commit deadly sins.

Farzi (Hindi)

The Raj and DK series stars Shahid Kapoor, Vijay Sethupathi and Rashi Khanna, and revolves around the tale of a small-time artiste turned con and an unorthodox police officer.

Gulkanda Tales (Hindi)

Produced by Raj and DK, the series, directed by Rahi Anil Barve stars Kunal Khemu, Pankaj Tripathi and Patralekha.

Happy Family Conditions Apply (Hindi)

From the makers of Khichdi comes the new comedy series set in the backdrop of a quirky but lovable joint family that is constantly at loggerheads with one another. It stars Raj Babbar, Ratna Pathak Shah, Atul Kulkarni and Ayesha Jhulka.

Hush Hush (Hindi)

A story of how the lives of five women intersect in unexpected ways after an unforeseen event takes place. The star cast comprises Juhi Chawla, Ayesha Jhulka, Soha Ali Khan, Karishma Tanna, Shahana Goswami and Kritika Kamra.

Indian Police Force (Hindi)

Rohit Shetty's cinematic copverse reaches the digital medium with the action thriller series starring Sidharth Malhotra, Shilpa Shetty, Vivek Oberoi and Isha Talwar.

Jee Karda (Hindi)

Directed and co-written by Arunima Sharma, the Maddok Films series is a coming-of-age drama delving into the lives of seven childhood friends. The key cast comprises Tamannaah, Suhail Nayyar, Aashim Gulati, Anya Singh, Hussain Dalal, Samvedna Suwalka and Sayan Banerjee.

Jubilee (Hindi)

Directed and co-created by Vikramaditya Motwane alongside Soumik Sen, the period drama series, set in a newly independent India, unveils the stories and dreams that gave birth to Bollywood. It stars Prosenjit Chatterjee, Aditi Rao Hydari, Aparshakti Khurana and Wamiqa Gabi.

Modern Love Chennai (Tamil)

The Chennai chapter of the popular American anthology series includes diverse yet universal stories of love from directors including Bharathi Raja, Balaji Sakthivel, Raju Murugan, Krishnakumar Ramakumar and Akshay Sundher.

Modern Love Hyderabad (Telugu)

The Telugu chapter of the popular anthology series explores the various shades and moods of love, coming from directors Nagesh Kukunoor, Venkatesh Maha, Uday Gurrala and Devika Bahudanam.

Modern Love Mumbai (Hindi)

The Mumbai chapter of the anthology series of the same name comprises six tales of love set in the city of dreams, directed by Shonali Bose, Hansal Mehta, Vishal Bhardwaj, Alankrita Shrivastava, Dhruv Sehgal and Nupur Asthana.

PI Meena (Hindi)

Shehar – Lakhot (Hindi)

Starring Lakshmi, Madhoo and Santhy Balachandran, the series tracks three generations of women who set off on an epic road trip.

The Village (Tamil)

Vadhandhi: The Fable Of Velonie (Tamil)

Ammu (Telugu)

Directed and co-written by Charukesh Sekar, the film revolves around the titular character, who does the unthinkable in order to prevent her abusive husband from getting suspended. It stars Aishwarya Lekshmi, Naveen Chandra and Bobby Simha.

Aye Watan… Mere Watan (Hindi)

Produced by Dharmatic Entertainment, directed by Kannan Iyer and written by Darab Farooqui, the film, inspired by true events, is based on a young girl who becomes uniquely instrumental to the freedom fight for India's independence.
