Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, directed by Farhad Samji, follows what may loosely be described as the antics of Bhaijaan (Salman Khan), the unmarried, do-gooder thug whose three younger siblings decide they’re going to find him a life partner. The movie released on April 21 and is a remake of the Tamil film Veeram (2014), starring Ajith.

KKBKKJ earned Rs 15.81 crore on its first day, reports Bollywood Hungama. According to the Economic Times, the film’s box-office collection on Eid is the lowest for a Salman Khan film since 2011. The figure is also substantially lower than the Rs 24.50 crore that Khan’s last release, Dabangg 3 (2019), earned on its opening day.

However, KKBKKJ saw a steady rise in collections on its second and third days, earning Rs 25.75 crore and Rs 26.61 respectively. There are hopes that the film will see a spike in earnings in the coming week. “KKBKKJ has been a pleasant surprise in terms of the impact at the box office,” said film exhibitor Akshaye Rathi. “While day one was sluggish because you’re talking about the last day of Ramzan where a huge section of moviegoers don't come out, specifically the Salman Khan fanbase, Eid, which was Saturday and Sunday, was absolutely ballistic and the numbers were very encouraging. From today, it entirely becomes a play of word of mouth and the kind of reports there are, and all of us are pretty hopeful that there will be a huge section of the movie-going mass, the aam janta, the public in tier-two, tier-three towns, that will come in huge numbers,” he added.

Prior to its release, the expectation was that KKBKKJ would do for Khan what Pathaan (2022) did for Shah Rukh Khan since both films are effectively an ode to the star, featuring the star. Pathaan made a whopping Rs 57 crore on its opening day and had earned Rs 280.75 crore by the end of its first weekend. Over its opening weekend, KKBKKJ has collected Rs 68.17 crore.
