Mohanlal starrer Malayalam film Drishyam (2013) has been remade in Kannada as Drishya (2014), Drushyam (2014) in Telugu, Papasanam (2015) in Tamil, and Drishyam (2015) starring Ajay Devgn in Hindi. The film is now set to be remade in Korea.

Korea’s Anthology Studios and India’s Panorama Studios have collaborated for the remake. The announcement was made at the India pavilion at Cannes. The film will be helmed by director Kim Jee-Woon and will be lead by Parasite (2019) star Song Kang-Ho.

Panorama Studios head Kumar Mangat Pathak said, “I’m excited that the Drishyam franchise is being made in Korean. All these years, we have been inspired by Korean fare, and now they have found a muse in one of our films. What can be a bigger achievement for the Indian film fraternity? This is the beginning of a valuable cultural exchange between both countries and their film industries.”
