The film industry has a lot of projects that seem to be stuck in 'development hell', a media industry term for scripts that have been 'in development' for the longest time. Stephen King's The Dark Tower, an 8-book series was stuck in a similar situation when it was comissioned to be made into a movie in 2007. The script was finally brought to frution by Sony Pictures Entertainment in 2015 and Nikolaj Arcel was signed on to direct it. In January 2016, it was announced that the movie will star Idris Elba and Matthew Mcconaughey. The Dark Tower will finally release this year. Mashable's video takes us through the various stages this movie has been in and how it broke through this development limbo.
