A Brief History Of The Fashion Of The Original Judwaa

A Brief History Of The Fashion Of The Original Judwaa

The 90s won't particularly go down in Bollywood history as a decade of great film and fashion, and one of the best (or worst) examples of that would be Judwaa (1997). The film is getting a remake that releases this month, and brought back memories of some questionable styling (read Salman Khan on the beach in cycling shorts), which we sincerely hope Judwaa 2 doesn't repeat:

It's a vest world out there

In a film where he sport vests in every style and colour, our favourite has to be the crop vest in fish net. Who doesn't want to see Salman Khan's belly button?

When it comes to colour, more is more

Purple pants and yellow t-shirt? Or purple pants and a multi-coloured shirt? This tapori in Judwaa doesn't colour correct.

Salman Khan's go-to metallic

Silver pants that turn into shorts, black jacket with silver discs on it, a belt with a large gold horse buckle on it, a chunky silver pendant – there is nothing that is too shiny for Salman Khan's character in this film.

Rambha didn't get a stylist

Ill-fitted body con dresses, dated floral swimsuit or just the worst colours from the palette, Rambha's stylist probably quit on Day 1 and this is the best they could do last minute.

Karishma Kapoor, the only saving grace

The other leading lady got some fun printed dresses and sexy mini dresses.  The fashion was still far from on point, but Kapoor who has the ability to make anything look good should get all the credit.
