In his last film Jai Lava Kusa, actor Jr NTR had a rather burly and heavy physique. Now he’s pulling out all stops to transform his body before he begins shooting his next film with director Trivikram Srinivas in April. Not much is known about his role in the film or whether his new avatar is for the character he’s essaying.
The star has roped in celebrity fitness trainer Lloyd Stevens, who helped Ranveer Singh achieve his ripped abs for Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela, to guide him. In less than than 5 months, NTR has managed to drop 18 kilos. A source tells us, “Lloyd has been with NTR throughout the process and the star is very impressed with how he has managed to help him. So much so, that he has asked him to continue working with him till he wraps up not just Trivikram’s film but also his next with S.S. Rajamouli.”
Lloyd is personally supervising all of NTR’s meals and the actor’s personal cook has been given strict instructions on the ingredients used and cooking methods. The mantra of the diet is simple: High protein, zero fat. “NTR isn’t complaining. Lloyd is ensuring he eats the most nutritious of food, which is also tasty. There are some compromises on his favourite flavours that are being made but the actor is focussed on his target,” shares the source, adding that NTR is enjoying his occasional dose of stir-fried lamb and roasted chicken, amongst other protein-rich foods.
NTR is spending over three hours in the gymnasium every day. While his cardio programme is intense, there’s also extreme care being taken to give ample time to weight training. Our source tells us, “The actor had no qualms about the high fee of almost Rs 6 lakh that Lloyd charges because the transformation has not just been quick but also one of extreme caution in terms of health.”
WHAT HAS BEEN ACHIEVED SO FAR
NTR has lost 18kg and is keen on losing a total of 20kg by the time he begins shooting.
