The rockstar archetype is a trope that’s often used in cinema to depict coolness. But when shiny leather jackets are strapped on to actors and guitars handed to them, logic tends to get sidelined. These moments, sometimes fleeting, are so half-baked in their execution that they make their guitar handlers look the total opposite of macho.

Film Companion compiled a few instances of when Bollywood took it too far with guitars. We decided not to nit-pick and include minor faults like actors playing guitars that weren’t plugged in. (Suspension of disbelief, anybody?) However, here are some moments that were so outlandish, they made us pull out our hair and wonder, “What just happened?”

The song Oh Oh Jaane Jaana from Pyaar Kiya Toh Darna Kya features one of Bollywood’s most iconic guitar motifs. But the video to it is something truly special. After making a truly rockstar entry on-stage by riding in on a bike, we dolly in on a shirtless Salman Khan who plays the lick as only Bhai can. Khan walks down the stage as he fake-plays an electric guitar (that isn’t even strapped) to what is clearly an acoustic guitar on record. After some swanky footwork, he tosses the guitar and it is caught by his friend off-stage.
