Badhaai Ho Trailer Talk: Ayushmann Khurrana Is Flustered By His Elderly Parents’ Sex Lives

Ayushmann Khurrana has become the go-to actor for offbeat romantic comedies. After Vicky Donorin which he plays the titular sperm donor, and Shubh Mangal Saavdhanin which he grapples with erectile dysfunction, it's an unexpected pregnancy that leaves his character flustered in Badhaai Ho.

The pregnancy is not that of his his girlfriend (played by Sanya Malhotra) though, it's his elderly mother's (Neena Gupta). A 'chota mehman' is how his father (Gajraj Rao) describes it. The family must now grapple with cheeky remarks from relatives – "Ab sab samajh aa rahi, kyun bahu ka badan toota kare hai roj subah," says the grandmother cheekily – and snide comments by others.  "His family is a circus I don't want to buy tickets to," says his girlfriend's mother.

Meanwhile, they must come to terms with the pregnancy themselves. Ayushmann finds this particularly difficult. Screaming toddlers in the street make him stop in his tracks and he rips off a 'baby on board' sticker on a vehicle. "Teri mummy pregnant hoti na, phir dekhta main," he tells his girlfriend. "Meri mummy pregnant hoti toh aur bhi badi problem hoti yaar," she says, "Papa nahi hai na mere."

The film is produced by Vineet Jain, Aleya, Sen, Priti Shahani, and Amit Ravindernath Sharma, who has also directed it. It will release on October 19.
