After breaking records with its advance booking, Animal (2023) secured the second-highest global opening day collection of the year with a box office collection of more than Rs. 116 crore. In terms of first-day collections, Animal surpassed Shah Rukh Khan's Pathaan (2023), which made Rs. 105 crore, but the Ranbir Kapoor-starrer is still trailing behind Jawaan (2023), which opened at Rs. 129 crore. Box Office India reported that Animal’s first-day collections are the third highest of all time, coming in behind Jawaan and Pathaan respectively.

Over the weekend, Animal raked in Rs. 76.1 crore on Friday, Rs. 79.1 crore on Saturday, and Rs. 85.3 crore on Sunday, achieving a total of Rs. 240.5 crore at the domestic box office. With an additional overseas collection of Rs. 115.50 crore, the weekend tally for Animal soared to over Rs. 350 crores, according to Sacnilk.

Notably, Animal has managed the biggest worldwide opening for an A-rated Indian movie. Industry tracker Sacnilk also highlighted the film had earned more than Rs. 50 crore on three consecutive days during its opening weekend, which is rare.

According to Sacnilk, early reports from Monday indicate that it is set out to have the best morning occupancy on a working Monday at about 30.67% in Hindi.
