Set in football-crazy Northern Kerala, Sudani From Nigeria talks about the unique sporting culture of Sevens football, a seven-a-side format played between privately-owned clubs. One of these clubs is run by Majeed (Soubin Shahir), the manager of MYC Accode.

After a lot of struggle, he finally senses his fortunes changing as Samuel, his star forward, begins to shine bringing home glory to his club. But that's until Samuel gets hospitalised after an accident. After the treatment, it falls on Majeed to take care of his star player. Majeed takes Samuel home where we witness an unlikely friendship between Majeed's mother, her friend and a bedridden Samuel.

What follows is a touching tale of finding home and love in a far away land. Directed and written by first-time director Zakariya Mohammed, the critically-acclaimed 2018 film is now regarded as a modern Malayalam classic.
