One of the best on-screen love stories of 2018 was that of Jitender and Priyamvada Kaushik's in Badhaai Ho. The middle-aged couple, played by the lovely Gajraj Rao and Neena Gupta, live in New Delhi's cramped government quarters with their two sons and a crabby mother-in-law (Surekha Sikhri). Their elder son Nakul (Ayushmann Khurrana) is in a steady relationship with his colleague (Sanya Malhotra) and is trying to impress his snooty to-be mother-in-law (Sheeba Chaddha). Trouble strikes when Nakul learns that his parents are expecting another child. His girlfriend's uptight mother declares, "His family is a circus I don't want to buy tickets to". 

Directed by Amit Ravindernath Sharma and written by Shantanu Srivastava and Akshat Ghildial, Badhaai Ho is a heartwarming love story about an elderly couple dealt with humour and sensitivity.
