For all the joy that Crash Course in Romance is giving us — if you’re looking for a cosy romance that’s also got a little murder mystery for added spice, this one’s for you — this has been a slow year for K-dramas. The first two months saw only a handful of releases and too few were memorable. In March, Netflix is leading the pack with three new K-dramas; the Korean crime action film Kill Boksoon, starring Cannes-award-winning actress Jeon Do-yeon (she’s also the female lead in Crash Course in Romance); and a docuseries called In the Name of God: A Holy Betrayal, which follows the aftermath of four Korean religious leaders duping people by pretending to be God.

Divorce Attorney Shin

When: March 4

Where: Netflix

If you loved Cho Seung-woo in Stranger, he’s back as a divorce lawyer in Netflix’s Divorce Attorney Shin – although his journey to the profession is a bit more complicated this time. Cho plays Shin Sung-han, a talented pianist who leaves a music conservatory in Germany to return to South Korea and become a lawyer. He decides to specialise in divorce and the series charts Shin’s endeavour to fight for his clients in court. But the artist-turned-lawyer also seems to be harbouring a secret. Based on a webcomic called Shinsunghan, Yihon, the drama is written by Yoo Young-ah and also stars Kim Sung-kyun (from D.P.) and Jung Moon-sung (from Hospital Playlist).

The Glory (part 2)

When: March 10

Where: Netflix

One of Netflix’s most popular shows from last year, The Glory returns on March 10 with its second part. Part one traced Dong-eun’s (Song Hye-kyo) horrific bullying at the hands of queen bee Park Yeon-jin (Lim Ji-yeon) and her clique of rich brats. Dong-eun works hard to overcome her poverty and gain an education, finally positioning herself as the homeroom teacher to Yeon-jin’s young daughter and at the heart of Yeon-jin’s life. The second part is expected to reveal much of what was kept under wraps earlier, like who really killed Myeong-oh – Dong-eun’s former bully and unlikely ally – and what role Yeon-jin’s husband will play in this deadly game. The show is written by Kim Eun-sook and if you haven't caught the first part, get cracking.
