Jawan (Hindi, Telugu, Tamil)

When: September 7

After Pathaan, Shah Rukh Khan is back with another action entertainer. Directed by Atlee, who is making his Bollywood debut, Jawan traces different timelines to narrate the story of a vengeful hero. It also stars Nayanthara, Deepika Padukone, Vijay Sethupathi, Priyamani and Sunil Grover.

The Nun II (English)

When: September 7

This sequel to The Nun (2018) is the ninth instalment in The Conjuring franchise. Set four years after the ending of the original film, the sequel directed by Michael Chaves tracks Sister Irene’s next encounter with the demonic force Valek at a boarding school in France. The film stars Taissa Farmiga, Jonas Bloquet and Storm Reid in the lead.

Miss Shetty Mr Polishetty (Telugu)

When: September 7

A celebrated chef, who is not interested in any long-term relationship comes across a happy-go-lucky stand-up comedian who falls for her. The romantic comedy, which marks Anushka Shetty’s comeback to the big screen is directed by Mahesh Babu Pachigolla and co-stars Naveen Polishetty, Nassar and Jayasudha in the lead cast.

Mukalparappu (Malayalam)

When: September 8 

A carefree young man who is opposed to his father’s profession as a Theyyam artist is forced to re-evaluate his attitude when he falls in love with a girl who respects and loves the art form and its legacy. Directed by Siby Padiyara, this drama features Sunil Surya, Aparna Janardan, Urmila Unni and the late Mammukoya.

Thirayattam (Malayalam)

When: September 8

This film deals with the hardships and issues faced by Theyyam artists in the contemporary world where the art form is slowly losing its significance. The film directed by Sajeev Kilikkulam stars Jijo Gopi, Sreelakshmi Aravindakshan and Nadam Murali.

Kaddha Chitra (Kannada)

When: September 8

When a celebrated author faces charges of plagiarism for his new work, will it affect his personal life? Will the lines between reality and fiction be blurred as he delves deep into the world of his creation? This thriller features Vijay Raghavendra, Namratha Surendranath and Raghu Shivamonga in the lead and is directed by Suhas Krishna.

Thurum Khanlu (Telugu)

When: September 8

This rural comedy deals with the trials and tribulations of three youngsters hailing from a peculiar village called Thupakula Gudem. The film directed by  N Shivakalyan stars Shreeram Nimmala, Devaraj Palamur, Avinash Chowdary, Ishwarya Vullingala and Seetha Mahalakshmi.

Vaathil (Malayalam)

When: September 8 

What will a husband and wife do to bring a newfound sense of love and care to their already disintegrating marriage? This chamber drama set mostly within an apartment features Vinay Fort and Anu Sithara as the estranged couple looking for some sense of belonging. The film is directed by Sarju Ramakanth.

Angaaragan (Tamil)

When: September 8 

This supernatural thriller is an Agatha Christie novel-esque single-location mystery set within a resort, where a police officer is tasked to track down a series of strange occurrences that are possibly linked to the resort’s dark history.  The film stars Sathyaraj in the central role with Sreepathy K, Reina Karad and Niya Sankarathil in supporting roles and is directed by Mohan Dachu.
