Sapta Sagaradaache Ello: Side B

The sequel to the recently released romantic drama Sapta Sagaradaache Ello: Side A, starring Rakshit Shetty, Rukmini Vasanth and Chaitra J Achar, is one of the most anticipated Kannada films of the year. The film will continue the story from the first part that dealt with two doomed lovers, who are caught at the crossroads of a tragic separation. The film, written and directed by Hemanth M Rao, follows the story of Manu who is released after serving a ten-year prison sentence and is forced to enter Priya’s life once again after a series of tumultuous events.

Spark Life (Telugu)

When:17 November

This thriller deals with four primary characters and their intertwined lives prompted by some unfortunate events. An unrequited love story and a strange set of suicide killings form the basis for this mystery starring Vikranth Reddy, Mehreen Pirzada, Rukshar Dhillon and Guru Somasundaram in the main cast.

Mangalavaaram (Telugu)

This psychological thriller set in the 80’s backdrop deals with a series of inexplicable deaths that occur in a village plagued by fear and how a young woman becomes the centerpiece of the next murder that is about to happen. Starring Payal Rajput in the central role with Nandita Sweta, Divya Pillai, Ravindra Vijay and Ajmal Amir in the lead roles, it is directed by Ajay Bhupathi of RX 100 fame.

Phoenix (Malayalam)

When:17 November

John and his family move to a faraway village in the hopes of starting a new life after facing a traumatic incident. But certain dark and supernatural events in the new home force them to reevaluate their decision. This horror mystery directed by debutant Vishnu Bharathan stars Aju Varghese, Anoop Menon and Chandunath G Nair in the lead roles. The film is based on a screenplay by Anjaam Pathiraa (2020) and Garudan (2023) fame screenwriter Midhun Manuel Thomas, known for his work in thriller flicks.

The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes (English)

When:17 November

In this fantasy adventure about a failing family of experts in the world of Hunger Games, a young Coriolanus is forced to mentor Lucy Gray Baird from District 12. Egos collide and personalities are tested to find out who is the songbird and snake as per the Hunger Games mythology. This big-budget adventurer is directed by Francis Lawrence and features Rachel Zegler, Hunter Schafer, Tom Blyth, and Peter Dinklage in the lead roles. The film is based on the famed Hunger Games novel of the same name and will be a spiritual prequel to the earlier Hunger Games films starring Jennifer Lawrence.

Khichdi 2: Mission Paanthukhistan (Hindi)

When:17 November

The sequel will see the return of the joyous Parekh family, who embark on a special mission tasked by the Thodi Intelligent Agency (TIA) to travel to a dystopian countryside to accomplish the task at hand. Featuring Supriya Pathak Kapur, Rajeev Mehta, Anang Desai and Vandhana Pathak, the film is directed by Aatish Kapadia, who also helmed the original film Khichdi: The Movie (2010). This is the latest installment of the Khichdi franchise after a series of television spinoffs and an original film.

Sesham Mikeil Fathima ( Malayalam)

When: November 17

The film deals with the trials and tribulations of an ordinary Muslim girl from a village in Malabar, who aspires to be a football commentator. Directed by debutant Manu C Kumar, the film stars Kalyani Priyadarshan, Maala Parvathy, Shaheen Siddique and Femina George.

Nethram (Kannada)

When: November 17

An action thriller marking the first leading role for up-and-coming actor Daksh Garag, who is known for juggling his professional acting career and IT job to this day. The film, written and directed by debutant filmmaker Billur Suresh, is billed as a thriller featuring unique action set pieces.

Trolls Band Together (English)

When: November 17

The third film in the Trolls film franchise traces a new journey for the primary characters Poppy and Branch, who are forced to reckon with Branch’s past as a band member of a boy band when one of his brothers, also an ex-band member, is kidnapped. Branch is forced to team up with his estranged siblings to find his kidnapped brother. Directed by Walt Dohrn, this animated film features voice performances by Anna Kendrick, Justin Timberlake, Camila Cabello, and RuPaul among others.

Bina Band Chal England (Punjabi)

When: November 17

An old-school screwball comedy that’s based on the central premise of a marriage founded on a simple lie, this film deals with the efforts of a prospective groom who finds himself in a tough spot between the two families due to a lie he tells his father-in-law. This comedy featuring Gurpreet Ghuggi, B N Sharma, Seema Kaushal and Raj Dhaliwal in the main cast is directed by Satinder Singh Dev

Next Goal Wins (English)

When: November 17

This real-life inspired sports drama features the efforts of a down-and-out football coach played by Michael Fassbender, who is tasked with the grueling task of training a mediocre American Samoa soccer team into the winners of the 2014 World Cup qualifiers list. The film is directed by Taika Waitati and is based on the 2014 documentary by the same name and also features Oscar Kightley, Kaimana and David Fane in the supporting cast. It is promised to be the ultimate underdog story.

Cheena Trophy (Malayalam)

When: November 17

The recently released teaser for the film offers a glimpse into the world of this little comedy, which will see Dhyan Sreenivasan take center stage as the cook in a small hotel. The teaser also features a hilarious cameo from popular real-life celebrity Chef Pillai and the teaser introduces the major four characters of the film, all set within the same kitchen floor. Written and directed by Anil Lal, the film's ensemble cast consists of Kendy Zirdo, Jaffer Idukki, Devika Ramesh, Johny Antony, KPAC Leela, Sudheesh, Bittu Thomas and Jordi Poonjar.

Anveshi (Telugu)

A suspense thriller featuring three primary characters whose lives are interlaced by chance, the film will have Vijay Dharan, Simran Gupta and Ananya Nagalla in the major cast. The film is directed by V J Khanna and is aimed at lovers of mysteries with a spin on them.

Dear Purusha (Odia)

A group of friends on the lookout for a break from the grind of family life embarks on a secret trip to Bangkok. What happens when the wives come to know about their husbands' getaway plan? Will they confront their spouses or forgive them? The film stars Mahasweta Ray and Siddhanta Mahapathra while Jiit Chakroborty directs.
