Joruga Hushaaruga Shikaaru Podhama (Telugu)

When: February 29

This coming-of-age outing will feature the story of two people, whose paths cross each other, as they embark on a journey across the country. The film directed by Naga Vamsil stars Santhosh Shoban, Phalguni Khanna and Viva Harsha.

Dune 2 (English)

When: March 1

The sequel of the Dune Franchise, helmed by Denni Villeneuve is one of the biggest releases from Hollywood this year. This direct continuation to the first instalment will deal with Paul Atreides’ journey in realising his true fate as the messiah of the ‘Fremen’ population. The film is the culmination of a two-film adaptation of Frank Herbert’s classic science fiction novel of the same name. Dune 2 features Timothée Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson, Josh Brolin, Stellan Skarsgård, Dave Bautista, Zendaya, and Charlotte Rampling.

POR (Tamil) / Dange (Hindi)

When: March 1

A seemingly normal ego clash between two best friends quickly snowballs into a bigger political issue that involves opposing college groups and state media. The film directed by Bejoy Nambiar features Kalidas Jayaram, Arjun Das and Sanchana Natarajan in Tamil and stars Harshvardhan Rane, Ehan Bhat and Nikita Dutta in Hindi.

Laapataa Ladies (Hindi)

When: March 1

Set in 2001 somewhere in rural India, the sophomore directorial outing from Kiran Rao comically shows what happens when two young brides wearing veils get lost and accidentally travel with different families. The film, bankrolled by Aamir Khan, features Nithanshi Goel, Pratibha Ranta,  Sparsh Shrivastava and Ravi Kishen.

Joshua: Imai Pol Kaakha (Tamil)

When: March 1

This long-delayed project from director Gautham Vasudev Menon follows a professional assassin tasked with protecting the life of a high-profile woman. The film stars Varun, Krishna Kulasekaran and Dhivyadharshini.

Vyooham (Telugu)

When: March 1

This fictionalised retelling of an infamous chapter in Andhra Pradesh politics is portrays how the death of chief minister YSR (Yeduguri Rajasekhara Reddy) impacted a whole state and the highly contested political ploys that unfurled. The film directed by Ram Gopal Varma stars Ajmal Ameer, Vasu Inturi and Surabhi Prabhavathi.

Kreem (Kannada)

When: March 1

A mysterious girl with a murky past infiltrates a weird cult engaged in human sacrifice. The film charts her fight for survival from within the powerful order. Directed by Abhishek Basanth, the film stars Samyuktha Hedge, Agni Sreedhar, Achyuth Kumar and Arun Sagar.

Operation Valentine (Telugu)

When: March 1

This action entertainer set against the backdrop of the Indian Air Force is based on real events and is a tribute to the Air Force. Directed by Shakti Pratap Singh Hada, the film features Varun Tej, Manushi Chillar, Navdeep, Rushani Sharma and Shataf Figar in the leading roles.

Bhoothaddam Bhaskar Narayana (Telugu)

When: March 1

Touted to be a supernatural crime drama, the film revolves around the exploits of a village detective who is forced to take up a cross-state mission, while battling a personal crisis. Directed by Purushotham Raaj, the film stars Shiva Kandukuri, Rashi Singh, Devi Prasad and Surabhi Santhosh.

Kadakan (Malayalam)

When: March 1

Kadakan is an old-school action entertainer revolving around the life of a brash, young man who finds himself in a scuffle with local gangs and the police department. Directed by Sajil Mampad, the film has Hakim Shajahan, Harishree Ashokan, Ranjith, Sarath Sabha, Fahiz Bin Rifai and Nirmal Palazhi.

Kaagaz 2 (Hindi)

When: March 1

This courtroom drama is the story of a father’s quest for justice against the system that took his daughter’s life. The film takes on the adverse effects of political rallies that obstruct the daily lives of the masses and often cause death because of careless acts. Directed by VK Prakash, this social drama stars Anupam Kher, Darshan Kumaar, Satish Kaushik and Neena Gupta in prominent roles. The film is also actor Sathish Kaushik’s last posthumous on-screen role. 

Chaari 111 (Telugu)

When: March 1

This humorous spin on the espionage thriller genre of films will feature Vennela Kishore as the titular spy. Directed by TG Keerthi Kumar, Chaari 111 also features Murali Sharma and Samyuktha Vishwanatha.

After fighting through a fierce divorce and surviving cancer, a woman takes on a powerful drug syndicate in her hometown. The film featuring Meena, Manoj K Jayan, Srikanth and Mohammad Roshan is directed by Jaya Jose Raj.

Hee Anokhi Gaath (Marathi)

When a well-meaning but a tad old-fashioned man and an ambitious modern woman get married, the couple struggle to figure out their places in their ever-changing relationship. The film directed by Mahesh Manjrekar is headed by Shreyas Talpade, Gauri Ingawale and Sharad Ponkshe.

Purushothamana Prasanga (Kannada)

A youngster passionate about working in the UAE has to face too many obstacles to achieve his dream. Directed by Devadas Kapikad, this drama stars Ajaya Pruthvi, Rishika Naik, Devadas Kapikad and Naveen D Padil.

Jugalbandi (Kannada)

When: March 1

In this caper comedy, a criminal mastermind's eyes land on a priceless crystal which is hunted by many others. Who will get to seal (steal) this once-in-a-lifetime deal? The comedy directed by Diwakar Dimdima features Santhosh Ashray, Manasi Sudheer, Ashwin Rao Pallaki and Archana Kottige.
