First Single from Varisu out (Tamil)

The first single from Vijay’s Varisu, ‘Ranjithame’ was released by the makers. The song is a fusion of koothu paatu (Tamil folk music) and modern beats. Composed by S Thaman, the song has been crooned by the actor Vijay himself along with MM Manasi. Vivek has penned the lyrics. The lyric video gave glimpses of a few shots from the song and behind the scene stills. 

Directed by Vamshi Paidipally, Varisu stars Vijay and Rashmika Mandanna in lead roles. The film is touted to be a family entertainer. The film, which is produced by Raju and Shirish under the banner Sri Venkateswara Creations, is slated to release on Pongal 2023

Dhyan Sreenivasan's Jailer poster out (Malayalam)

Billed as a period thriller, Jailer stars Dhyan Sreenivasan and Divya Pillai in lead roles. Set during the period of 1956-57, Sreenivasan essays the role of a Jailer who tries to experiment with five notorious criminals. The poster of the film reveals the look of all the major characters. 

Helmed by Sakkir Madathil, the film co-stars Manoj K Jayan, Sreejith Ravi, Navas Vallikkunnu, Binu Adimali, Unni Raja, Jayaprakash, and BK Baiju. The film is produced by NK Mohammed under the banner Golden Village. Deepu Joseph is the editor and Mahadevan Thampi is the DOP. 

Navya Nair and Saiju Kurup reunite after Oruthee (Malayalam)

After the success of Uyare (2019), S Cube Films has roped in Navya Nair and Saiju Kurup to play the leads for their next. The film, which was launched on Thursday, will be directed by Aniesh Upaasana of Matinee (2012)fame. Navya Nair made a comeback to Malayalam cinema after eight years with VK Prakash's directorial Oruthee earlier this year,which also starred Saiju Kurup.

Vijay Sethupathi’s DSP first look out (Tamil)

Vijay Sethupathi’s next with Ponram is titled DSP. The first look of the poster featuring Vijay Sethupathi in police attire was released. In a serious look, Sethupathi is seen riding a Royal Enfield bike. It is reported that his character’s name is M Vascodagama. 

Produced by Kaarthekeyan Santhanam, the film co-stars Anukreety Vas, Shivani Narayanan, and Pugazh in prominent roles. While Vivek Harshan has handled the edits, Dinesh Krishnan and Venkatesh have cranked the camera, and D Imman has scored the music. 

First single from Vaathi out (Tamil)

‘Vaa Vaathi,’ the first single from Dhanush starrer Vaathi is out. The lyrics of the song have been penned by Dhanush for G V Prakash’s music and the song has been sung by Shweta Mohan. ‘Mastaaru Mastaaru’ is the Telugu version of the song and it is written by Ramjogaiah Sastry. The film is titled Sir in Telugu. 

This bilingual film is written and directed by Venky Atluri and co-stars Samyuktha Menon, Sai Kumar, Tanikella Bharani, Samuthirakani, Thotapalli Madhu, and Motta Rajendran. While the editing is handled by Navin Nooli, the film is produced by Naga Vamsi S and Sai Soujanya. 

Aishwarya Rajesh starrer Driver Jamuna release postponed (Tamil)

Aishwarya Rajesh’s survival thriller Driver Jamuna was slated to release on November 11 but due to unforeseen circumstances, the release has been postponed. Aishwarya Rajesh plays a cab driver named Jamuna and the film revolves around a conflict she encounters during a ride. 

Helmed by Kinslin, the film co-stars Aadukalam Naren, Kavitha Bharathi, and Abhishek Kumar. Ghibran has composed the score for the film while R Ramar has handled the editing. 

Golden Star Ganesh’s next Tribble Riding gets a release date (Kannada)

Tribble Riding starring Ganesh and Megha Shetty is slated to hit screens on November 25. An out-and-out comedy, the film is directed by Mahesh Gowda. It co-stars Rachana Inder, Aditi Prabhudeva, Rangayana Raghu, Sadhu Kokila, Ravi Shankar Gowda, and Kuri Pratap. Produced by Ramgopal, Sai Kartheek has composed the music.

Shivarajkumar’s 125th film, Vedha gets a teaser (Kannada)

Shivarajakumar’s Vedha is a period film that has a tagline, “The Brutal 1960s”. The first teaser of the film titled, ‘Weapons of Vedha’, highlights the various weapons used in the movie. The teaser also gives a glimpse into the film’s world. Vedha is slated to release on December 23 in Kannada, Telugu, and Tamil.

Helmed by Harsha, the film marks the fourth collaboration of the director with Shivarajkumar. While Ganavi Lakshman has been roped in to play the female lead, the film also stars Shwetha Chengappa and Aditi Sagar in prominent roles. Deepu. S. Kumar has handled the editing, Arjun Janya has scored the music and Swamy J. Gowda has lensed the film. 

Sunil joins Sivakarthikeyan's Maaveeran (Tamil)

Tollywood actor Sunil, who became famous across industries after his role in Pushpa: The Rise, has joined the Sivakarthikeyan starrer Maaveeran. Directed by Madonne Ashwin, the film co-stars Adithi Shankar, Mysskin, and Saritha in important roles. The score for the film is composed by Bharath Shankar, while Vidhu Ayyanna is the cinematographer. The film will be dubbed in Telugu and will be released as Mahaveerudu.

First look of Sshivada’s Javanum Mullapoovum out (Malayalam)

Billed as a family entertainer, Javanum Mullapoovum is Raghu Menon’s directorial debut. The film stars Sshivada and Sumesh Chandran in lead roles. Reportedly, Sshivada plays the role of a teacher. 

Written by Suresh Krishnan, the film is produced by Vinod Unnithan and Sameer Sait under the banner 2 Creative Minds. It stars Rahul Madhav, Baby Sadhika Menon, Devi Ajith, Balaji Sharma, Vinod Kedamangalam and Sabu Jacob. While Sanal Anirudhan has handled the editing, 4 Musics has composed the music for the film. 

Guru Somasundaram to play a dad in Haya  (Malayalam)

Haya promises a fun-filled movie with romance, college drama, and lots of emotions. Minnal Murali fame Guru Somasundaram will essay the role of a father in this film. Actor Mammootty shared the trailer of the film on his social media. 

Directed by Vasudev Sanal and written by Manoj Bharathy, the film stars Johny Antony, Kottayam Ramesh, Sreekanth Murali, Sree Dhanya, and Biju Pappan. Aun Thomas is the editor, Jiju Sunny is the DOP and Varun Sunil is the music composer. 

Spooky College feat. Kushee Ravi and Vivek Simha to release on November 25 (Kannada)

Billed as a psychological horror thriller, the film is directed by Bharath G. Set in a college, Spooky College follows a student who questions the existence of ghosts. The film is slated to hit screens on November 25.

It is produced by H K Prakash under the banner Shri Devi Entertainers. While Srikanth has handled the editing, Manohar Joshi has helmed the camera. The music for the film has been composed by B. Ajanesh Loknath.

Udhayanidhi Stalin’s Kalaga Thalaivan gets a trailer (Tamil)

Kalaga Thalaivan is a crime thriller that is centered around abuse and violence against women, abduction, and cyber crimes. Nidhhi Agerwal has roped into the play the female lead opposite Udhayanidhi Stalin.

Written and directed by Magizh Thirumeni, the film is produced under the banner Red Giant Movies. Kalaga Thalaivan also stars big boss fame Arav and Kalaiyarasan in important roles. Arrol Corelli has composed the music for the film. 

Thiruveer starrer Masooda gets a release date (Telugu)

Written and directed by Sai Kiran, Masooda is slated to release on November 18. The film is produced by Rahul Yadav Nakka under the banner Swadharm Entertainment Pvt. Ltd.

It stars Thiruveer, Kavya Kalyanram, and Sangitha in lead roles. Prashanth R Vihari has scored the music for the film while Jesvin Prabu has handled the editing and Nagesh Banell has lensed the film. 

Santhanam plays a private detective in Agent Kannayiram (Tamil)

Agent Kannayiram is a fun-filled detective movie directed by Manoj Beedha. The film is a remake of the 2019 Telugu film Agent Sai Srinivasa Athreya. Santhanam plays the titular detective who always roams around with a gun, but also delivers quirky dialogues and funnily advertises his services. The trailer gives us glimpses of his activities.

This Yuvan Shankar Raja musical co-stars Riya Suman, Pugazh, Munishkanth, and Redin Kingsley in the lead roles. Ajay has helmed the cuts and Theni Eashwar and Saravanan Ramasam have handled the camera.
