Director Shaji Kailas makes a comeback to the Malayalam industry after almost a decade with Kaduva, releasing on June 30. Kaduva is set against the backdrop of the 90s and revolves around the rivalry between Kaduvakkunel Kuruvachan (Prithviraj Sukumaran), a break-all-rules businessman, and a high-ranking police officer (Vivek Oberoi).
The film also stars Vijayaraghavan, Saikumar, Dileesh Pothan, Alencier Ley Lopez, and Janardhanan. The script is by Jinu V Abraham and Sujith Vaassudev is shooting it. Jakes Bejoy has composed the film's songs and background score. Shameer Muhammed has handled the editing. Kanal Kannan & Mafia Sasi have choreographed the fight sequences. It is produced by Supriya Menon and Listin Stephen under the banner of Prithviraj Productions & Magic Frames.
Gopichand and Raashi Khanna play lawyers in Pakka Commercial. Sathyaraj plays a former Justice who is very honest and he is the father of Gopichand. The latter comes across as a lawyer who can win any case if paid well. Raashi Khanna is an actor-turned-lawyer who joins as an assistant to Gopichand. It then follows a battle between Sathyaraj and Gopichand in the court as they take opposite sides.
Pakka Commercial is written and directed by Maruthi. It is produced by Bunny Vass under the banners UV Creations and GA2 Pictures. It is presented by Allu Aravind. Jakes Bejoy scores the music, Karm Chawla handles the cinematography and SB Uddhav edits the film.
Jailer is said to be set in the backdrop of prison and will see Rajinikanth playing the titular character, a jail warden. The makers released the title poster which featured a blood-stained knife. Nelson Dilipkumar, known for Doctor, directs the film. Vijay Karthik Kannan is roped in as the cinematographer, Nirmal handles the editing and Anirudh Ravichander scores the music for the film. It is produced by Sun Pictures.
Harikathe Alla Girikathe is a comic drama following the story of a director and his journey to find a producer. The trailer gives us glimpses of comedy sequences of him narrating different stories, sometimes to a producer and sometimes to a policeman who is investigating him.
Harikathe Alla Girikathe is directed by Karan Ananth and Anirudh Mahesh. The story is from Giri Krishna, and the screenplay was penned by Giri Krishna and Anirudh Mahesh. It stars Rishab Shetty, Thapaswini Poonacha, and Rachana Inder in important roles. Vasuki Vaibhav is the music composer. The film is produced by Sandesh Nagaraj under the banner Sandesh Productions.
Directed by Mithran Jawahar, Dhanush's Thiruchitrambhalam is scheduled to hit the screens on August 18. While Nithya Menen, Priya Bhavani Shankar, and Raashii Khanna play the female leads, Prakash Raj and Bharathi Raja will play important roles in the film.
Om Prakash is the cinematographer and Anirudh Ravichander is the musician. Interestingly, Thiruchitrambhalam marks Dhanush's theatrical release after three back-to-back OTT streamings — Jagame Thandhiram, Atrangi Re, and Maaran.
Thallumaala is slated to hit the theatres on August 12, marking Independence Day weekend. The film is written by Mushin Parari and Ashraf Hamza. It is directed by Khalid Rahman. The cast also includes Shine Tom Chacko, Johny Antony, Binu Pappu, and Lukman. Jimshi Khalid is the DOP, Vishnu Vijay is the music composer and Nishad Yusuf is the editor. The film is produced by Ashiq Usman under the banner Ashiq Usman Productions.
Kaari starring Sasikumar is a rural action entertainer that focuses on the guardian deity of the village and deals with the issues of dumping industrial waste. Jallikattu and horse racing seem to add up to the film's plot line.
Kaari is written and directed by Hemanth. It stars Sasikumar, Parvathi Arun, J.D.Chakravarthy, Balaji Shaktivel, Aadukalam Naren, Samyuktha Shanmughanathan, Ammu Abhirami and Redin Kingsley. D Imman has composed the music for the film. T Shivanandeeswaran handles the editing and Ganesh Chandrra helms the camera. The film is produced by S Lakshman Kumar under the banner Price Pictures.
Sammathame starring Kiran Abbavaram and Chandini Chowdary is a romantic comedy. The film is about Krishna who badly wants to get married and it takes us through the love journey of Krishna and Saanvi. Sammathame is written and directed by Gopinath Reddy. It is produced by Kankanala Praveena. Shekar Chandra is the music composer, Sateesh Reddy Masam is the DOP and Viplav Nyshadam is the editor. The film theatrically releases on June 24.
Ullasam starring Shane Nigam and Pavithra Lakshmi is expected to release on July 1. Billed as a fun entertainer, it is directed by Jeevan Jojo and the story is scripted by Praveen Balakrishnan. Ullasam marks Pavithra Lakshmi's Mollywood debut. Swaroop Philip is the cinematographer and John Kutty is the editor. While Shaan Rahman scores the music, Gopi Sundar handles the background score for the film.
Dia fame Pruthvi Ambaar's Sugarless will be hitting the theatres on July 8. Priyanka Thimmesh plays the female lead. The film is said to be centered around youngsters with diabetes. It marks the directorial debut of producer-turned-director KM Shashidhar, who also produces the film. Anoop Seelin scores the music and Lavith handles the cinematography.
Suriya's Soorarai Pottru is being remade in Hindi with Akshay Kumar as the lead. While Suriya produces the film, he recently announced that he will be appearing in a cameo as well. Sharing a picture with Akshay Kumar, he wrote "Enjoyed every minute with team Soorarai Pottru Hindi in a brief cameo!"
The remake is directed by Sudha Kongara, who helmed the original. It stars Radhika Madan as the female lead. GV Prakash, who was the music composer of the original, scores for the remake. The film is produced by 2D Entertainment in association with Abundantia Entertainment and Cape Of Good Films.

The sequel for the famous Chandramukhi, the Tamil remake of Malayalam hit Manichitrathazhu has been launched. Titled Chandramukhi 2, the film stars Raghava Lawrence in the lead. Interestingly, Vadivelu, who also starred in the original is roped in to play an important role. It is directed by Vasu and bankrolled by Lyca Productions. Maragadhamani composes the music for the film. Raghava Lawrence, Vadivelu, and director Vasu had previously worked together for the horror-comedy Shivalinga.
Akash Puri and Gehana Sippy starrer Chor Bazaar is scheduled to release on June 24. Touted as a romantic action entertainer, it is directed by Jeevan Reddy and is produced by VS Raju. It also stars Sunil, Posani Krishna Murali, and Subbaraju in prominent roles.
Directed by Lakshman K Krishna, Swathi Muthyam is reportedly a new-age love story. It stars Bellamkonda Ganesh and Varsha Bollamma in the lead roles. The makers have announced that the film releases on August 13. It is bankrolled by Suryadevara Naga Vamsi under the Sithara Entertainments banner and the music is composed by Mahathi Swara Sagar.
