FC Disruptors: Sheetal Iqbal Sharma

Clothes make the man and the woman, especially when it comes to period films. Sheetal Iqbal Sharma’s costumes are not just beautiful to look at and flattering for the wearer, they add to the character’s personality and make an impression upon the viewer. This year, Sharma had a breakout year with two elaborate productions that showed different ways of reimagining the past while adding to the characterisation. He has a Master's degree in period costumes, and it’s been put to excellent use this year. From Gangubai’s crisp, white saris, to the flowy, drapes favoured by Princess Noor Jahan in Sita Ramam, Sharma’s period costumes showed range and attention to detail.
