The Sky Is Pink tells the incredible true story of Aisha Chaudhary, who was born with a life-threatening illness which she battled her entire life and went onto to become a motivational speaker and author before passing away at the age of 18. The film comes from director Shonali Bose, who also wrote it with Nilesh Maniyar with dialogues by Maniyar and Juhi Chaturvedi.
The film stars Zaira Wasim as Aisha, with her family played Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Farhan Akhtar and Rohit Saraf. Rather than focusing on Aisha's story alone, it traces the journey of her family over 20 years, focusing on the relationship between her parents from when they first met, to coping with the pain of the loss of their child. Produced by Ronnie Screwvala and Siddharth Roy Kapur, The Sky Is Pink premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival and marked Priyanka Chopra Jonas' return to a Hindi film after three years.
