FC Trailer Talk: Bareilly Ki Barfi

Kriti Sanon stars as the rebellious Bitti in this upcoming comedy drama about a girl looking for the right partner. Under pressure from her parents, she is being forced to look for a husband. However, nobody seems to be interested in the rather eccentric Bitti.

Enter Chirag Dubey, played by the charming Ayushmann Khurrana. He falls head over heels for her but unfortunately for him, she doesn't reciprocate.

Bitti finds a book titled Barielly Ki Barfi, whose female protagonist break dances and watches English films, just like her. Delighted to have finally found someone who will appreciate her for who she is, she decides to look for the author – a Pritam Vidrohi (played by Rajkummar Rao).

Chirag, who helps her find Pritam, convinces him to undergo a makeover a la Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi. The plan is for him to break her heart so that Chirag can swoop in and save the day. However, all goes haywire when Bitti starts taking a liking towards Pritam.

The film has been written by Nitesh Tiwari (director) and Shreyas Jain, the writers of Dangal. It was directed by Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari, whose last film Nil Battey Sannata was well-received by critics. The film is produced by Junglee Pictures in association with BR Studios and is scheduled to release on 18th August, 2017.
