Simpsons Predictions That Came True

Team FC

Trump Presidency

The Simpsons episode “Bart to the Future” aired in 2000, humorously suggested a future where Donald Trump was president. This joke turned into reality in 2016 when Trump was elected as the 45th President of the United States.

Joe Biden and Kamala Harris’s Election

The Simpsons did not directly predict Joe Biden and Kamala Harris’s election. However, a 2019 clip seemed to predict their joint places on the Democratic ticket. This became a reality in 2020 when Biden and Harris were elected as President and Vice President of the United States

Malfunctioning Voter Machines

In the 2008 episode “Treehouse of Horror XIX”, Homer tries to vote for Barack Obama, but a voting machine records his selection as John McCain several times. A similar incident occurred during the 2012 presidential election.

NSA Spying on Citizens

The Simpsons Movie in 2007 made a joke about the NSA listening to conversations of regular Americans. This seemed eerily accurate when Edward Snowden revealed real-life NSA spying in.

Walt Disney and Fox Merger

In a 1998 episode “When You Dish Upon A Star”, The Simpsons humorously suggested that Disney would own 20th Century Fox. This prediction came true in 2017 when Disney purchased Fox for $52.4 billion.

A Pandemic

In the 1993 episode “Marge in Chains”, The Simpsons depicted an outbreak of “Osaka Flu”. While it’s true that the episode focused on a viral outbreak, this is hardly a prediction as the world has seen a number of pandemics.

The Apple Vision Pro

The Simpsons did not directly predict the Apple Vision Pro. However, in a 1998 episode, they depicted characters using devices similar to VR headsets, which were already known technology at the time.
