"The medical field is at an important juncture," narrates a voiceover setting the stage for Sathyaraj's upcoming film Theerpugal Virkkapadum, the trailer of which was released today. The actor plays a doting father and a doctor who is pushed to confront the powers that be — legal, political and corporate.
The film is directed by Dheeran, starring Sathyaraj in the lead role, and Smruthi Venkat as his daughter. Theerpugal Virkkapadum is shot by 'Garudavega' Anji and edited by Noufal Abdullah. Prasad S.N. has been roped in as the music composer. It is produced by C R Saleem under the banner of Altari Movies.
Sathyaraj was last seen as a herbal doctor in director Ponram's MGR Magan, alongside M Sasikumar and Mirnalini Ravi. Smruthi Venkat previously played the role of Jasmine in Vanam, alongside Vetri and Anu Sithara.
Theerpugal Virkkapadum will be released in theatres on December 24.
