FC Trailer Talk: Tubelight

Team FC

Set against the backdrop of the Sino-Indian war of 1962, Tubelight is the story of two brothers caught in extraordinary circumstances. Salman Khan (who has also produced the film) plays Laxman, an affable simpleton who finds unconditional support in his brother, Bharat (Sohail Khan). The duo last appeared together in Veer (2010). The late veteran actor Om Puri will be seen in an integral part of the film, which also stars Chinese actress Zhu Zhu.

Laxman finds purpose in life when his brother goes missing in action while on duty. What follows puts Laxman's faith to test, as he embarks on an emotional journey to bring his brother home. Talking about his character at the trailer launch, Salman Khan said, "It's difficult to play such pure characters like the ones I've played in Tubelight, Bajrangi Bhaijaan or even Hum Aapke Hain Koun..!. Not letting your greed to be a certain way onscreen comes in the way of maintaining that honesty and purity, is the toughest part."

Tubelight marks the third collaboration between the actor and writer-director Kabir Khan, who previously came together for Ek Tha Tiger (2012) and Bajrangi Bhaijaan (2015). The film is inspired by Alejandro Gómez Monteverde's 2015 film, Little Boy. Pritam returns as the music composer of the film with lyrics by Amitabh Bhattacharya, in their second collaboration with the director.

Tubelight releases on June 23, 2017. Watch the trailer here:
