Viewer’s Voice: The Die-Hard Sivaji Ganesan Rasigan

Team FC

Meet Arumugam, an istri kaarar, who works in Chennai's RA Puram. The first film he remembers watching on the big screen is T. Rajendar's Uravai Kaathai Kili in Alangudi's Meghala theatre. He's a fan of  Sivaji Ganesan, with Vasantha Maligai being his favourite film. He's especially fond of the songs in Sivaji's films and their unique meaning. Arumugam also remembers making a cut out for one of Sivaji's films and bursting crackers to celebrate the release.

Also a fan of MGR, he feels the Superstar would make films just to motivate his audience, with an emphasis on human effort as the path to success.

But when he was in school, he admits to having bunked many classes the moment someone invites for a matinee.

Not missing any chance to catch a classic when its telecast on TV, he says he misses the kind of films he grew up watching.

Here's Viewer's Voice, a fortnightly where we trace the story of fans and the films that have made them.
