#86 Khamoshi – The Musical: Top 100 Bollywood Albums

Movie Details of Khamoshi – The Musical

Music: Jatin-Lalit, Remo Fernandes

Lyrics: Majrooh Sultanpuri

Label: Universal

Director: Sanjay Leela Bhansali

Almost all of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's movies to date have been music-heavy – the director has even turned composer for his more recent movies – but only one of them came with an official "musical" tag, his debut film. Over time, Bhansali's movie soundtracks would attain a more consistent sound – the grandeur & the folk and classical influences would become more distinctive. But Khamoshi was more aligned to the 90s Bollywood sound, something that Jatin-Lalit were exponents of at that point. Along with Remo Fernandes who guest-composed two songs, the duo gave Bhansali a soundtrack that lived up to the titular tag.

Best Song of Khamoshi – The Musical: Though it is Aaj Main Oopar that bagged key awards that year, my favourite is the other popular track from the album, Hariharan and Alka Yagnik's Baahon Ke Darmiyaan.
