Sabhaapathy Trailer Talk: Is His Fate In His Hands?

The makers of the upcoming Santhanam-starrer Sabhaapathy released the trailer of the film today. The trailer gives starts with the all-knowing voice of fate that claims that everything is his 'game.' For that game, the chosen one is the film's eponymous hero Sabhaapathy.

The trailer then gives us a peek into the life and problems of Sabhaapathy, played by Santhanam. He is introduced as a person who stammers, which itself becomes the reason he gets rejected from jobs and leads to his own insecurity. He laments why only he had to be given this fate — until fate itself intervenes. It is suggested that there is something bigger at play here and everything is being controlled by the said voice. 

The trailer takes a quick turn when Sabhaapathy finds a suitcase full of cash and the film turns into a sort of a caper around that McGuffin. 

Sabhaapathy features Santhanam, Pugazh as his friend, M.S.Baskar as his father and Preeti Verma as his love interest. It is directed by debutante Srinivasa Rao, cinematography by Baskar Arumugam, music by Sam CS and edited by Leo John Paul. The film is produced under the banner of RK Entertainment. The team has also released two singles from the film.

Sabhaapathy is Santhanam's third release this year. He had Johnson K's Parris Jeyaraj, remembered widely for its music and Dikkilona, a time-travel misadventure. He is working on Agent Kannaayiram, the remake of the Telugu hit film Agent Sai Srinivasa Athreya. 

Sabhaapathy is scheduled to release in theatres on 19 November 2021.
