August 16 1947 Teaser Talk: The Period Drama Traces India’s Road To Freedom

Set in the Senkaadu village of the Madras region in 1947, the teaser opens up with Pugazh reading a piece of news that states, "Britishers are afraid of Mahatma Gandhi's actions and so we will attain freedom this year." The village is overjoyed by this and thinks Gandhi throws punches that scare the British.

The teaser then gives us glimpses of the village's traditions, along with a romantic track. It also touches upon the various cruel acts of the British. Gautham Karthik plays a determined person who seems to motivate his people, saying, "Like those who are holding a knife with no courage to use it, what would be the use of Independence to people who live in fear."
