Trailer Talk Of Nivin Pauly’s ‘Kanakam Kaamini Kalaham’: A Late Honeymoon Goes Horribly Wrong In This Comedy Of Errors

A drama actress gets married to a junior artiste. But their marriage isn't as romantic as it is in the movies. The actress' friend recommends a vacation…a late honeymoon to bring back the fire in their relationship. They head to hotel Hill View to rekindle the fire but the hotel isn't what you'll romantic either…although Malayalam cinema romance king Prem Nazir was once a regular. 

This is the setting of Nivin Pauly's new comedy, Kanakam Kaamini Kalaham, with Grace Antony playing his wife. Set almost entirely inside this crumbling hotel building, the trailer is sure to bring memories of a typical Priyadarshan comedy, especially his film Vettam that was set in a hotel too. Apart from this, the film references Nivin Pauly himself apart from the iconic tricycle shot from The Shining.  

With a set of the hilarious supporting actors, the film will be Nivin Pauly's first full-fledged comedy after Love Action Drama. Shortened to 'KaKaaKa', the comedy will be Nivin Pauly's first film to release directly on OTT. 

The team had launched a teaser in July that ended with this disclaimer: 

This will be the first direct release of a Malayalam film for Disney+ Hotstar. Their Tamil titles have so far included Lift, Oh Manapenne!, Teddy and last year's Nayanthara comedy Mookuthi Amman. 

The film is directed by Ratheesh Balakrishnan Poduval, who had earlier directed Android Kunjappan 5.25 and it is being produced by Nivin Pauly. Apart from him, other actors include Sudheesh, Jaffer Idukki, Joy Mathew, Grace Antony and Vinay Forrt. 

Vinod Illampally is the cinematographer and Manoj Kannoth is the film's editor. The music is by Yazken Gary Periera and Neha Nair, known for their works in hits like Iyobinte Pusthakam and Driving License.
