CBI 5 Trailer Talk: Mammootty As Sethurama Iyer Investigates A Conspiracy Dealing With Basket Killing

CBI 5 The Brain is the fifth instalment in the series of CBI films starring Mammootty as Sethurama Iyer. In this part, the investigation begins when a man, probably a writer, is mysteriously found dead. They set out to find whether it was a suicide where he hung himself or a murder staged as a suicide.

There seems to be a series of murders happening later, and the CBI needs to find the connection. The clue boils down to learning what happens during 20 minutes of an important event. Sethurama Iyer reveals that "Even earlier, a conspiracy has happened here and the result was basket killing", suggesting a possibility of a similar outcome. The trailer ends with him saying that he knows the killer.

The fourth instalment was released in 2005. After a gap of 17 years, it will be interesting to see what the makers have in store for the fifth part. Apart from Sethurama Iyer, it also marks the return of Sai Kumar as police DySP Sathyadas and one could expect another exciting face-off between them.
