Don’t Look Up is based on true events… that haven’t happened yet. For one, America has never had a woman president — here played by Meryl Streep in a pantsuit. For another, we have not had a crashing comet that would destroy the Earth as we know it.

Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Lawrence are two low-level astronomers who must go on a giant media tour to warn mankind of an approaching comet, because the powers that be laugh at their theories and are unconvinced by their concern. A black comedy ensues.

The ensemble cast includes the who’s who of Hollywood —  Rob Morgan, Jonah Hill, Mark Rylance, Tyler Perry, Ron Perlman, Timothée Chalamet, Ariana Grande, Scott Mescudi, Cate Blanchett, and Meryl Streep.

Written and directed by Adam McKay (The Big Short), the film premieres on December 24
