In the age of Coronavirus quarantines, lockdowns and self-isolation, many more of us are relying on streaming platforms in search of distraction, escape and just plain entertainment. Luckily August certainly doesn't look to disappoint with an exciting new set of streaming releases offering a wide range of stories. It's raining documentaries on Netflix, covering everything from adorable animals to controversial athletes. It also appears to be the month of Bobby Deol, making his streaming debut with releases on both Netflix and MX Player. From Amazon Prime Video's latest Indian original to the return of Lucifer, here are our picks of what's releasing this month across platforms.

Class Of 83

When: TBC

Bobby Deol stars as a cop who decides to punish the corrupt bureaucracy and its criminal allies by training five lethal assassin policemen. 

Masaba Masaba

When: TBC

This scripted series is based on real-life moments from Masaba Gupta's life and follows her unique background, the diverse worlds she straddles across fashion and family, and her foray back into the dating world. 

Immigration Nation

When: August 3rd

A documentary series which offers a unique view of the ongoing struggles in America's broken immigration system.

Sam Jay 3: In The Morning

When: August 4th

In her Netflix Comedy Special debut, Sam Jay discusses navigating her sexuality, the complexities of traveling with her significant other, and why it's always necessary to lock the door while showering.

World's Most Wanted

The final season of the hit Netflix series sees everyone's favourite devil back for more mischief. 

Bandish Bandits

When: August 4th

Amazon Prime Video's latest Indian original takes us into the world of music. Radhe is a singing prodigy, Tamanna is a rising pop sensation. Their world is turned upside down when they fall in love. With a soundtrack from Shankar Ehsaan Loy and a cast that includes Naseeruddin Shah, this one certainly has our attention. 

Killing Eve: Season 1-3

When: August 7th 

All three seasons of the hit BBC show from Phoebe Waller Bridge finally make their way into a streaming platform. Killing Eve centers on a bored MI5 security officer who becomes infatuated with a talented killer. The show topples the expectations of a typical spy-action thriller as these two women, equally obsessed with each other, go head to head in an epic game of cat and mouse.

Bloodshot

When: August 12th 

Hollywood's latest superhero-esque story stars Vin Diesel as Ray Garrison, a soldier recently killed in action and brought back to life as the superhero Bloodshot by the RST corporation.  With an army of nanotechnology in his veins, he's an unstoppable force–stronger than ever and able to heal instantly.

Ramy Season 2

When: August 14th

The critically acclaimed comedy series following Egyptian-American Ramy's spiritual journey in his politically-divided New Jersey neighborhood, returns for a second season. This time Ramy is joined by none other than Mahershala Ali to guide him through the trials of life. 

Chemical Hearts

The Gone Game

Another 'home-made' web series, shot entirely from the confines of the artists' homes, The Gone Game follows the Gujral family. Tragedy strikes after their son is declared dead due to the virus, but the question remains if there is more to it than meets the eye. The series offers a promising cast including Sanjay Kapoor, Arjun Mathur, Shriya Pilgaonkar and Shweta Tripathi Sharma, among others.
