Parmanu Trailer Talk: The Day India Became A Nuclear Power

In Parmanu: The Story of Pokhran, John Abraham leads a team of six people who have a difficult task at hand: the secret mission of testing 6 nuclear bombs in 30 days in a village in Rajasthan. The villagers have no idea about the magnitude of the activity–the team is disguised as archeological officers. And with an imminent war with an USA-aided Pakistan, the world mustn't know about the tests.

The trailer was released today, 11 May, marking the 20th anniversary of the event on which the movie is based on. Besides Abraham, the film features actors Diana Penty and Boman Irani.

Directed by Abhishek Sharma, who shares writing credit with Saiwyn Quadras and Sanyuktha Chawla, and produced by Zee Studios and Kyta Productions in association with JA Entertainment, Parmanu has been mired in controversy with actor-producer Abraham, filing three criminal complaints against former co-producer Prernaa Arora and her company, KriArj Entertainment, "for cheating, breach of trust, defamation". As a result, the film's release date kept getting pushed. It will release on 25 May.
