Made In China rajkummar rao

Made in China looks like what would happen if Rajkummar Rao’s character in Kai Po Che, that of an enterprising Gujarati youth, were asked to play the lead in a sex comedy in the times of Make in India.

In the film, directed by Mikhil Musale, Rao plays Raghu, who struggles to find the right business. He is seen selling everything: from what seems like heart-shaped pumpkins at a departmental store, to roti makers to housewives.

Until, inspired by the words of wisdom by an older, supposedly successful man at a bar (Paresh Rawal), he goes to China, where he is told that what Indians need is not good roads, but sex. He gets a secret ingredient, some kind of a Chinese soup which does the job of an aphrodisiac, partners up with a Gujarati sex doctor (Boman Irani), and you can imagine where it goes from there.

Mouni Roy plays Raghu’s wife, who seems perpetually horny (or at least those are the portions the trailer shows us, for obvious reasons), and there is Sumeet Vyas in the cast as well.

Musale shares screenplay credit with Karan Vyas and Parinda Joshi. Music, both the songs and the background score, is by Sachin-Jigar.

Produced by  Dinesh Vijan, Made in China releases this Diwali.
