So much goes on in Ee Nagaraniki Emaindi that you'll sometimes forget if you're watching the same film. But it's a compliment, nevertheless, since the movie's main intention is to make you laugh for a day-and-a-half longer after you've witnessed the end credits zip by.

If you think that the title hints at a thriller, then you are right. In this broadly funny movie, every dialogue feels like a punch line. It's so meticulously constructed that you don't get the urge to think if the characters are behaving sensibly. Vennela Kishore is absolutely fantastic as a drug addict and the quote on his T-shirt narrates a story that's equally amusing.

There's something about Sammohanam that makes it seem as though it's a cup of vanilla ice cream. It never goes out of style. It is, perhaps, the conviviality with which the protagonists (portrayed by Sudheer Babu and Aditi Rao Hydari) get together. They don't become friends at the drop of a hat. They take their own sweet time to build a relationship that stands on trust. And that's lovely.
