The 30-Second Teaser For Netflix’s Paava Kadhaigal Bleeds Red

What can you guess about a film from a 30-second teaser? Well, a lot, sometimes. The title Paava Kadhaigal was enough to tell us that it was going to be about stories of sin and crime.  And, now, the teaser tells us that there are lives at stake.

Paava Kadhaigal is  directed by Sudha Kongara, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Vignesh Shivan and Vetri Maaran. Unlike the Amazon Prime Video original anthology Putham Pudhu Kaalai, Paava Kadhaigal doesn't seem to infuse optimism. How can there be hope when most of the cast members (Kalidas Jayaram, Kalki Koechlin, Sai Pallavi, Simran, and Shanthnu Bhagyaraj) look either bewildered or afraid? It's too early to talk about what the core idea of the Netflix original is, but it certainly appears to be gritty. Is misery the key word behind the making of these kadhaigal?

While Netflix usually turns toward Christmas and holiday-themed movies in December, it seems to be reminding us Tamil folks that we're not going to be spending the last few weeks of the year lol-ing away in la-la land. Happy Bloody Holidays, maybe!

During the announcement of the anthology, a Netflix press release said it would explore how "love, pride and honour influence complex relationships". The anthology is produced by Ronnie Screwvala's RSVP Movies and Ashi Dua Sara's Flying Unicorn Entertainment, and will release across 190 countries. The cast includes Anjali, Bhavani Sre, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Hari, Padam Kumar and Prakash Raj.
