In the age of the Coronavirus quarantine, remote education and hybrid workforces, many more of us are relying on streaming platforms in search of distraction, escape or just plain entertainment. With a new month comes new possibilities, talent, collaborations and shiny new releases for us to get lost in.

From Cobalt Blue and Dasvi on Netflix to Anna Ben and Tovino Thomas’ political thriller Naradan on Amazon Prime Video, here is a list of what’s releasing this month across platforms.


Cobalt Blue

Veyil (Malayalam)

Written and directed by Sarath Menon, the film revolving around a family of two sons and their mother has been produced by Joby George. It stars Shane Nigam, Tom Shine Chacko and Sreerekha.

Outer Range: Season 1

When: April 15

Created by Bryan Watkins, the mystery thriller series stars Josh Brolin as rancher Royal Abbott, alongside Lili Taylor, Tamara Podemski, Tom Pelphrey and Imogen Poots.

A Very British Scandal

When: April 22

The story of events surrounding the notorious divorce of the Duke and Duchess of Argyll (Paul Bettany and Claire Foy) during the 1960s.

Bheeshma Parvam (Malayalam)

Directed by Amal Neerad, the gangster drama stars Mammootty, along with an ensemble cast including Soubin Shahir, Sreenath Bhasi, Tom Shine Chacko, Nadhiya Moidhu and Farhaan Faasil.

Kaun Pravin Tambe

Abhay: Season 3

Kunal Kemmu returns as a supercop in the third instalment of the series, which also stars Vijay Raaz, Asha Negi, Rahul Dev, Tanuj Virwani and Vidya Malvade.


Gullak: Season 3

The Mishra family returns as one member gets a job, while the other loses one. Directed by Palash Vaswani, the TVF series stars Jameel Khan, Geetanjali Kulkarni, Vaibhav Raj Gupta, among others.

James (Kannada)

Written and directed by Chethan Kumar, the action thriller stars the late Puneeth Rajkumar alongside Priya Anand.
