Why: The New Delhi based independent hip-hop music label that backs progressive, grass-roots, and socially conscious music was only formed in 2017. It soon became one of the most hyped labels. Today, they represent 11 artists performing in as many languages- Hindi, Marathi, Bengali,Gujarati ,Tamil, Kannada, Punjabi. Just last year they signed on Ali Saifuddin, the Kashmiri singer-songwriter. Last year Azadi Records also launched 101, the Haryanvi-Hindi rap duo Seedhe Maut’s followup to their celebrated debut album Bayaan. The Punjabi rapper they launched the label with, Prabh Deep, premiered his song 'CHITTA' in July this year. The video has clocked upwards of 500k views.
