Sonu Sood

Where: Social work during the pandemic

Why: Through this tumultuous pandemic, we have watched actor Sonu Sood transform from an on-screen villain to a real-life superhero. It began with him hiring buses to send home stranded migrant workers walking back to their towns in the scorching heat. Today, Sood has become everyone’s go-to saviour in times of need. He has several people tweeting to him, calling him or lining outside his home for assistance because they know they’ll be heard. At a time when the country is gripped by a health and economic crisis, and very little hope, Sood’s kindness and generosity has been disruptive.
