Anna Ben

Where: Helen, Kappela

Why: She proved her prowess as a solid performer in her very first film Kumbalangi Nights, where she took on a nosy brother-in-law and tackled a man-child of a boyfriend. In her second Helen, she carried an entire film on her shoulders, giving us the shivers and a lot of stress as she stuck it out inside a freezer with nothing but a mouse for company. She can be naïve and innocent as well as fierce. The Malayalam actress has proved that one’s range needn’t be the result of years of experience. Add a film like the highly polarising Kappela to the mix and what Anna will do next is already a thing.
