Bimbisara Movie Review: It Feels Like An Abandoned Rajamouli Film

  • Posted on August 6, 2022August 6, 2022
  • by Mukesh Manjunath
If told like a folk tale and narrated by a storyteller, this story would have been powerful as it has all the makings of a masala film. But the production values never match the director’s vision.

Sita Ramam Review: Hanu Raghavapudi’s Best Work Nearly Hits Bullseye

  • Posted on August 5, 2022August 8, 2022
  • by Mukesh Manjunath
Hanu Raghavapudi is in fine form when dealing with the love story and there are deliberate Mani Ratnam-esque touches that he uses to emphasize the love between Sita and Ram

Rama Rao On Duty Is A Messy Mix Of Director’s Vision And Actor’s Image

  • Posted on July 29, 2022
  • by Mukesh Manjunath
But to director Sarath Mandava’s credit, this film is at least as good, if not better than any of Ravi Teja’s recent films. Upon further reflection, I don’t think this film wants to clear a bar higher than that.

Thank You Is Vikram Kumar’s Blandest Work

  • Posted on July 22, 2022July 26, 2022
  • by Mukesh Manjunath
Because it is Vikram Kumar who helms the film, I expected something bigger and deeper and definitely more ambitious. Instead what we get is not only his blandest film but his least ambitious film.

The Warriorr Movie Review: Aadhi Pinisetty Shines In A Messy Film

  • Posted on July 15, 2022July 15, 2022
  • by Mukesh Manjunath
The Warriorr took me down a nostalgia trip I never wanted to go down to. It has all the elements of an early 2000s Telugu cinema and barely any nuance or twist expected in contemporary cinema

Happy Birthday Movie Review: A Celebration Of Telugu Pop Culture

  • Posted on July 8, 2022
  • by Mukesh Manjunath
The world conceived and made by Ritesh Rana is absurd and surreal and is executed to near perfection despite the limitations of the budget.

Modern Love Hyderabad Review: A Mediocre Yet Feel-Good Anthology

  • Posted on July 8, 2022July 8, 2022
  • by Mukesh Manjunath
I would have loved to see a little more of Hyderabad in all the stories and to me those that don’t work, don’t work precisely because they ignored the cultural factors going into the setting.

Anya’s Tutorial’s Great Ideas Never Work On Screen

  • Posted on July 1, 2022July 1, 2022
  • by Mukesh Manjunath
Every time the show delves into pure horror, it fumbles and as one progresses from episode 2 to 7, the horror quotient increases, but the show becomes silly

Virata Parvam Tells A Soulless Romance Amidst Epic Ideology

  • Posted on June 17, 2022June 17, 2022
  • by Mukesh Manjunath
A film that wanted to show the inherently violent nature of the status quo and how love feels like a paradox ends up telling a dull romance that’s never as epic as it thinks it is

Ante Sundaraniki: A Hilarious Comedy That Needed A Little More Drama

  • Posted on June 10, 2022June 10, 2022
  • by Mukesh Manjunath
Ante Sundaraniki feels like a movie that stopped at the precipice of greatness because of the lack of drama in its story but all the talented cast and crew make it an enjoyable film that gives you a lot to smile about
