The 2016 Rishab Shetty film marked Mandanna's debut – a role which cemented her in the film industry.
The role that made her appeal truly pan-India though was Pushpa's Srivalli, a labourer turned smuggler who deals in red sandalwood. Eccentric and the breadwinner of her family, she remains one of Mandanna's most memorable heroines.
Mandanna proved perfect for Dear Comrade's Lilly, a state-level cricket player. The hero of the film might have been Vijay Deverakona but it was Lilly's story that pulled focus.
Mandanna might have played Sulthan's (Karthi) love interest in the film but this was no lovestruck heroine. Sulthan had to earn her respect and trust before earning her love.
Mandanna's role as a teacher, Geetha, in love with uncouth gangster Shiva (Dhruva Sarja) is often considered a fan-favourite.
