SS Rajamouli has announced Made In India, a film based on the life of Dadasaheb Phalke, the Father of Indian Cinema.

The film will be directed by Nitin Kakkar and produced by Rajamouli's son SS Karthikeya and Varun Gupta.

Rajamouli shared a teaser on X, formerly Twitter, announcing the film's title. The video also carried the text, 'Indian cinema has witnessed many biopics. This is a biopic of Indian cinema.'

“When I first heard the narration, it moved me emotionally like nothing else. Making a biopic is tough in itself, but conceiving one about the FATHER OF INDIAN CINEMA is even more challenging.” Said Rajamouli

Phalke, whose full name was Dhundiraj Govind Phalke, made the first full-length Indian feature film Raja Harsishchandra in 1913. Made In India will be released in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Malayalam and Kannada.
