Om Shanti Om (2007)

Vishal-Shekhar and Javed Akhtar produced some of the most memorable songs of the time with this album, with "Ajab Si" and "Main Agar Kahoon" bringing the romantic flavour, "Dard-e-Disco" becoming a quotable parody, "Dastaan" encapsulating the film in a song, and "Deewangi" sheer vibes.

2 States (2014)

One of the last Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy soundtracks to be etched in one's memory, the romcom's album features everything from the playful "Offo" to the soulful "Chaandaniya".

Bombay Velvet (2015)

Amit Trivedi's jazz album remains one of the most significant experiments in mainstream Bollywood music: it was unique, daring, and completely challenged the norms of film soundtracks, from the many versions of "Mohabbat Buri Bimari" to the near-operatic instrumental pieces.

Tamasha (2015)

AR Rahman's tremendous compositions were given life by Irshad Kamil's poetic lyrics, from the nimble "Matargashti" to the devastating "Agar Tum Saath Ho" and the fablesque "Chali Kahaani".

Laila-Majnu (2018)

A rare multi-composer soundtrack (Niladri Kumar, Joi Barua, Alif) that broke through the clutter, the music served as an experience even independent of the film, with the likes of "Aahista", "O Meri Laila", "Hafiz Hafiz", and "Sarphiri" standing out.

Sonchiriya (2019)

Vishal Bhardwaj and Varun Grover lent the Abhishek Chaubey western a very earthy sensibility, using traditional and modern sound to produce an eclectic album where a folk song like "Naina Na Maar" stood shoulder-to-shoulder with the acoustics of "Baaghi Re".

Laal Singh Chaddha (2022)

One of Pritam and Amitabh Bhattacharya's most remarkable achievements is this soundtrack, filled with original music that grows on the listener over time, with the standouts being "Tere Hawaale" and "Kahaani".
