Movies Titles That Fooled Us

Team FC

Goodfellas (1990)

From the title, you can expect to be a lighthearted mob comedy or a film with friends in the underworld. The title is pretty ironic, considering the fellas here aren’t even remotely good. They’re bad fellas.

Tangled (2010)

The title softens the fairy tale by giving an intriguing nature to it. The movie features a colorful adventure full of humor and heart and snappy numbers that mesmerize the audience, even though nothing in the story is every tangled. Not even Rapunzel’s shiny mane of hair.

Happiness (1998)

A movie that deals with highly dysfunctional characters with themes of pedophilia, the only comedy being tragic and following a daring and clever story, it is all but happy.

Marathon Man (1976)

Actually a thriller, and follows a man out of his depths as he becomes entangled in a conspiracy involving the American government and a Nazi war criminal. Definitely not a sports movie focusing on a man trying to run a marathon.

The Accountant (2016)

The movie turns out to be a gripping action film with compelling fight sequences and shootouts. The main character has a rich childhood history that also explains his combat skills. It’s a highly inventive action-thriller, which directly opposes the titular promise of a glacial drama.

Scary Movie (2000)

Scary Movie is a spoof of famous horror movies, and ran multiple sequels. The plot is focused on the comedic side of horror rather than horror itself, rendering it a NOT scary movie.

Pineapple Express (2008)

While undeniably hilarious, no one could've predicted the story will be about a particularly potent strain of marijuana that will entangle a couple of slackers in an action-packed adventure involving murder, intrigue and a whole lot of drug consumption. We expected a train.
