In 2015 the project was all set. There was a producer and a hero who wanted to do Jigarthanda Double X. I just had the idea for the first half. The main idea of the film is to show what is the power of cinema as such.
“did you think of that script again? Do you have an idea now?" That time I finished Mahaan and I was free for sometime. That is when I thought about the script. And I feel it was actually the universe came in, the elephant and the forest factor came into my mind.
That doubt actually pushed this film for 8 years and then I started it. I feel it’s good. If I had made the film at that time, I definitely would have screwed up big time. I think the thought process took so many years to come into my mind.
The Messaging part was not my priority initially with Jigarthanda Double x. My main motive with this film is show what cinema can do as a tool. Cinema Can bring a bigger change, a bigger revolution, a political change and bring down the overall system.
I wanted to show something which can connect with us and which is really strong. When I got to know the story of a tribe. A genocide which is happening. What if there was a camera there shooting everything. And then we could see that means what kind of ripple effect it would create.
